The Centre d’Étude des Conditions de vie et des BESoins de la population (ÉCOBES) is an organization dedicated to research in applied social sciences affiliated to the Cégep de Jonquière. Founded in 1982, ÉCOBES operates in the field of socio‑organizational development in health and education.

ÉCOBES is a leader in social science research within Québec's college system and is a true engine of social and economic development. ÉCOBES offers various research and knowledge transfer activities to users: monitoring, applied research, dissemination, training, support and accompaniment during consultation, and in research or organisational development. The centre specializes in contributing to the development of knowledge about young people, school drop out prevention and hereditary diseases.
