Innofibre contributes to the technological standing and sustainable development of Québec’s paper and biorefining industry by supporting biomass product innovation and the diversification of biomass-based products, and by adapting paper technologies.

Through valuing typical and atypical biomass, Innofibre's multidisciplinary team aims to be a centre of excellence in the paper technology and biorefining sector. Innofibre also develops new specialized papers, thermoformed packaging, bio-based barrier agents and modified cellulosic fibers. The centre works on biomass packaging, biocoal, bioenergy, extractables and microalgae. Unique to North America, Innofibre’s pilot project workshop is equipped with pilot equipment operating at conditions similar to those of the industry.
